The Man who Stole the Sky

The Man who Stole the Sky

A Poem by adam26

Grey stars and personalities match the roads that connect them

The rocks could tumble at any moment

What it would take to convince them

That he was not one of them

The ultimate heist

Would come at a price

He was the Man that stole the Sky

The stars can twinkle

The lights can flicker

What would happen if it went missing?

No one can hear him

Maybe he can’t hear himself

So, he disappeared

Where did he go?

Star light

Star bright

Moonlit trails in the dead of the night

It must be morning by now

The darkest minute of his life

Perhaps the Sky stole Him

What’s with him?

He never makes eye contact

His head is always aimed towards the sky

He smiles like has the best kept secret

Nobody knows why

That’s how He stole the Sky

The night that he disappeared

The sky was cleared

It was a meteor shower

A brilliant display of light

His gaze never left the stars

Maybe it was cloudy

A familiar face in a random place

No words for this moment

No song can capture

A shadow leaping from the heavens

This was the missing puzzle piece

He was the Man that stole the Sky
