Chapter 2: A War? Now?

Picking sides, one finds out about Corra's biggest secret, a war is beginning between the Vera and an enemy who now has powerful allies and is ready for revenge. Everything begin with Chapter 2.

Dylan and Will sat in the Commons of the the Academy for Anguniem. There was only one school for young Anguniem considering there was only a few thousand Anguniem. He couldn't help but think of the test all of them took when they turned eighteen. This test decided your purpose in Anguniem society. There were four choices of roles, the first was Mind Manipulators, the least common one, these people were devoted to the art and discipline of being able to read, search and cause people to see things that aren't there, only a select view Anguniem can do this. The next were blacksmiths who forged weapons and tools, a relatively common role, but was not that bad of one. The third was protection experts, they studied defense, tended the wards and walls of the capital, and every now and then teamed with warlocks to enchant the wards and wall. And the last, and the one Will and Dylan were hoping to achieve was the War unit, an elite team of warriors dedicated to being the best warrior they could possibly. It was one the highest honors to part of the war unit of the Anguniem. Most Anguniem's dream was to be of this unit. Every Anguniem were warriors, but these people were the best of the best, they were only brought into fighting demons or one the maledictus if they were leaders of the magical world or greater demons. 

Dylan leaned back in his chair and fell asleep dreaming dreams of being part of the war unit with Will. "WAKE UPPPP!!!!!" Will screeched in his face. "WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE!!" Dylan jumped up and banged head with Will. They both groaned in pain. "Come on Dylan, the girls are probably already there."

 

"Where?"

"Elemental trainging, you dingbat!" Dylan groaned. "What is that about, I thought you loved that, because somebody is there...." 

"You mean Corra, she's engaged." Will stepped back.

"What she's engaged? Since when? To whom?"

"Some vampire named Angelo." Dylan mumbled something under breath along the lines of 'good for nothing leech.'

"I knew it, I knew it! You have a crush on a a warlock! Ha!" Will jeered. They began towards the training room. "Imagine what your mother would say, wait I know what she would say!" Will  did a high pitched mockery voice, " Dylan Bane, how dare you try to get involved with a demon blood infested being such as a warlock!"

"Whatever Will, just shut-up." They entered the training room, and found it with five more people than usual inside. As they walked closer Dylan and Will recognized them as leaders of the Anguniem, Stefan Evernight, head of the mind manipulators, Caroline Goldhart head of the Protection Experts, Carlos Black head of the Blacksmiths, Wiatt Cane, head of the War unit and the last person neither of them recognized, he had dark brown hair that fell halfway down his neck with piercing purple eyes and was tall with lean muscle. Corra was spewing to them and by the looks of it was shocked by something they had said. Dylan and Will jogged up to them and asked what was going on.

"An enemy of the Vera has declared war on the Anguniem." Stefan Evernight answered.

"A war? Now?" Will retorted. "Who is this enemy?"

"Xavier Shade" Evernight said. "He is a vampire bad. He seeks revenge on us for killing or as he puts it 'mudering' his wife. We did kill her but we had good reason, she was killing tons of humans and had to be stopped."

"And who's he?" Dylan asked gesturing tot he purple eyed man. 

"That's Yueg Green, a warlock and a friend." Corra replied, speaking for the first time. "We believed him to have some ides for talking some sense into Xavier."

"O.K. now that we have you caught up, Corra, we mud return to the Quinn, and speak to him of plans for Xavier, we believe that he may try to attack here, at the capital. Goodbye."

Stefan, Caroline, Carlos, Wiatt and Yueg, left. Corra turned to them. "The girls are in their dormitories, you guys should return there too, practice is cancelled." She looked like she was still in shock. 

"Corra, what did they tell you that they didn't tell us?" Will asked gently.

"Nothing, nothing. All she be revealed one day, but not today." She paused. "Now go to your dormitory, now." She looked so distraught, Dylan heart felt like it was about to hammer out of is chest. He wanted nothing more than to comfort her and reassure her. But how could he when he didn't know what was wrong?
