Sunset

It was the brightest sunset
That I have seen in my life.
It warmed my very soul
And demolished all internal strife.
The colors were plentiful.
The people watching were, too.
The end had to come,
As sadly as ends always do.
But I remember it clearly,
And if you watched it, then you did, too.
We slowly returned to our respective homes,
And the joy on my face was very well shown.
The next day I returned
To the spot from before.
And much to my disappointment,
That one sunset was no more.
But I will always remember that beauty to behold
And that memory will never grow dim, and never get old.
