To the sea

To the sea

A Poem by ~Sarah~ Idríel The Fair

Once when I walked on the shore, I heard the

lovely song of the sea, and the distant

cry of the seagulls, somewhere far away.

I had lost myself.

To the sea! To the sea!

it is my heart longing to see.

Set sail and find the way

to the land that has been long lost.

In my dreams I traveled with Elwin

and we had white boat and its sails

was made of foam of the waves.

Elwin turned to look at the distant shore

and said in a voice full of joy,

‘Look, there you can see the shores

of Eldamar and her emerald forests!’

To the sea! To the sea!

it is my heart longing to see.

At last I can find my way to the shores,

somewhere out there, where you can still hear

the voice of Ulmo.

This world of yours (even if shadowed by the great T) is an Unknown to me.. but to travel it in time could well be a glorious adventure. Love the way you utter names, that very point gives mere titles real flesh.

Will return, when life allows... later.
