Cat and Rat

Putty putty p***y cat
Looks through the window
Rays of light glitters her eyes
Colors dance all along garden.

Putty putty p***y cat
Sees a rat "Mousy rat"
Running and playing in the garden
Jumping, climbing rushing through shadows

Putty putty p***y cat
Widening eyes,
Ringing bells inside stomach
Crawled through the windows.

Putty putty p***y cat
Sat looking mousy rat
Playing long enough to be tired
Until the burning stomach cries aloud

Putty putty p***y cat
Jumped over mousy rat
Started enjoying throwing high up
Until the mousy mouse is no more.

This made me smile....my cat dealt with one field mouse that got into our house somehow.
All she wanted to do was play with it...she caught and carried it around then let it go.

She wouldn't hurt a fly...and think often cats and mice like the game...much like Jinx and pixie and dixie in the cartoon.

A very catlike behavior. I am catless at this time but i watched Sally the calico entertain herself lofting chipmunks until they were no longer good playmates. She left me bits and pieces on my doormat- in case I had missed the show.

My cat never knew what to do with a mouse either he knew that it was something he was supposed to do but the transition to... "this is food" never occurred to him LOL The result was always he would torture them to death :/

very clever piece, and we all know what cats love.... mice and other critters.... so no matter where they are...they jump from high up if they are hungry enough....I'm not a cat lover, but many in my family have them and have seen them in action.... lovely

I think you've captured the nature of cats well in this. Cats are always playful even with their prey at times. The sad ending actually reflects the nature of old nursery rhymes being many have dark histories.

Is that your cat, Arun? She's so playful and yet so dangerous for the population of mice around. She's an asset actually, getting rid of those ugly, unhealthy pests. I love cats. I have two of them.
