This expresses a surrealistic landscape akin to something Salvador Dali might paint. It gives the reader a very dream oriented feeling so good job on that. Our disconnected thoughts and subliminal impressions often manifest themselves in dreams as our subconscious tries to make sense of the senseless. I dream in vivid colors that are often different from reality; purple grass and yellow skies for example...I have no idea what that "means". But it often makes for some very entertaining sleep time. Perhaps it represents other worlds to my sleeping mind informing me that I am, in fact, asleep and in a dream. I enjoyed the read.

Have you been peering into people's dreams again? And do they know you broadcast them. What if she doesn't want people to know she has cutlery issues and the knife always ends up in her mouth instead of the fork. And her deficit consumes her day as she licks cookies till they dissolve into the strange landscape she observes trying to ignore the bee stinging her beauty. Was it your voice she heard?
makes me think of Dali ... a trip on LSD that is about to go bad ... great imagery and imagination .. the picture of her ...licking cookies .. with a sharp knife in her mouth ... ooooooooo very strong writing says i .. a sharp tongued woman is a curse of some sort ... seems i have read.

This has a deeply sinister tone and its staccato structure provides emphasis to it. Indeed hallucinations can be weird like dreams, the difference being you believe them more when awake. trust me I know having suffered them once when I had a fever. It left a lasting impression till this day!

I'm not sure how to interpret this. But I'm reminded of how, after people have seen some gory scene, like finding some beloved person with his/her head cut off, this would be a forever flashback in that person's mind. If someone had enuf of these flashing thru one's mind, it might be hard to take a step forward in life. Seeing a knife pointed at someone's mouth might make that person leap across the table to stop this knife-eating friend! Thought-provoking writing (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
hmm i'm thinking more nightmare than hallucination such strange imagery in this one it does make one think

Wow, this is like Anne Sexton meets Sylvia Plath...
and as Anne wrote---"to empty my breath from its bad prison"---
Maybe beauty drives one crazy...trying to live up to some pedestal imagination of others.
I like the short pieces that leave so much between the lines.
