I'm Done With Suffering

I'm Done With Suffering

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

Dancing shadows whisper gently my name
as I walk quietly down the stairs,
"come, free us, join us in our game"
"thus no one will notice, no one cares".
They keep proving insistent and stubborn
never interested if I'm in the mood to hear them,
just thrusting deeper within their poisonous thorn
hurting, aching, haunting me even during rem.

"We shall kill you" they say
swearing upon their mercyless god
"We shall find you, and you'll join us one day"
ceaseless, vanishing the memories I forgot.
Yet not a single day more shall they
for I've had enough of their swearing,
the knife falls down, I'm left halfway
and just like that, I'm done with suffering.
