If Whales Could Cry

If Whales Could Cry

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

If whales could cry
Would you notice?
Would you wonder why?
Their tears lost at sea
All their feelings, denied

If a whale cries
Would you care?
And look at it, to its eyes?
I wonder
Would you dare?

Wouldn't you feel ashamed?
Of all your comforts and joys
What if you were to blame?
What if they sing no more?
And all which you hear is noise?

If whales could cry
I'd cry too
If whales could cry
Who'd know for sure?
