Childhood Games

Childhood Games

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf
"

Brothers.

"

Swords clash with each other
the final battle against my rival
the eternal conflict between me and my brother
the neverending fight for survival.
He moves daringly aiming at me
as I dodge masterfully his thrust
this will be it, none of us will flee
before nightfall I'll beat him, I must.

Our mother calls us for dinner
we leave our wooden swords aside
I guess none of us is today's winner
but it's always fun to play outside.

Awesome , reminded me of my childhood days , the best line to me is '...I guess none of us is today's winner ..' , that is always the case when two brothers fight. Overall the poem is quite masterfully penned , just one place I want a clarification are the lines :
'...the eternal conflict between me and my brother
the neverending fight for survival...',
do these lines have a double meaning or are these just a protrayal of childish imagination , if there are double meanings , I would love to know .
Once again , a great poem .

a wonderful piece that highlights the depths of imagination we find ourselves in as children...How life long bonds of siblings can shape, mold or break up...
I love this

I really enjoyed this. Reminds me so much of my own brothers.
Sometimes the bitterest of enemies, but always the closest of allies. ^-^
Sweet sentiment, great execution.
