Into The Gallows

Into The Gallows

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

The shouting winds suffocate my ears

as I walk blinded through the crowded square,

justice failed to temptation's fears

lest we remember my fitting dare.

"Foolishness", my executioner keeps in thought

"What a brave, gaga man I have today"

and as he whispers "It was all for naught"

he plans to free me from disarray.

I walk my way up this wooden stage

fully aware of what now follows

I lived long enough for someone my age

here goes a daring man into the gallows.

I wonder if this is what all people who walked to the gallows back in the day's of the night's and king's felt like or would think of when they walked to the gallows it reminds me of something that Shakespeare would write in a play such as something like...Othello or maybe Hamlet just those word's in one little part very good I really loved this piece of writing.

a seriously beautiful piece that gives the mans execution almost a theatrical feel like a cliff hanger in an act...You create a setting filled with senses and the disarray of such a terrifying event...I really loved this...well done x
