The Sleeping Man

The Sleeping Man

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

Once upon a time, well, many years ago

I found the rests of a vividless body
was he sleeping? I wondered as I looked below
should I ask? could I? he's sitting, there's nobody
no man nor woman around, all alone
just me and my self again on the road of dirt
ah yes, and of course that body beside that stone
everything else was just but a desert.

I glanced and pondered about this man
curious I wondered and scared off a bug
there! on his shirt, I read the name "Stan"
I sat beside him, smiled, and gave him a hug.
