Illumination Through Faith

Illumination Through Faith

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

A caяving knife
to shape ouя intellect
the endless stяife
to complete ouя pяoject

wisdom aquiяed with the blood
of ouя ancestoя's gяeatest minds

a beautiful white coloяed bud
to яesemble the ignoяance of all kinds

we have leadeяs to guide us
to teach us the яight way of things
to keep us away fяom a fuss
to guide us unwilling with stяings

we seek foя sanity
we seek foя health
we'яe lost in vanity
and kill foя wealth

people like to believe
thus believing is easy to do
no exchange made to achieve
but яeceiving's easy too

people could offeя you salvation
people could say they know secяrets
they pяomise to heal youя fяustяation
and teach you the way faith pяotects

nonsense, I think
faith didn't saved my fatheя
won't wash away destiny's ink
and pяobably won't save someone's motheя

faith, they teach you
the яight way to illumination
ignoяance is bliss, it's tяue
let us all now join in celebяation

knowledge is foяbidden
its pяactice will be coяяected
betteя stay hidden
and яatheя be яejected.

Wow.. such fiery passion in the ignorance of bliss.. well I am not shaken one bit.. If I die it will be in faith.. believing and with knowledge... if my knowledge or faith turns out to be ignorance then so be it... but then I lived and loved by my own standards and not as a puppet. The last stanza was particularly provoking.. oh we all know we won't be given truths.. but it will not stop millions from silently trying to find the answers as well as media here. We can voice in democracy... I'm starting to wonder which way our countries are swinging these day! Faith protects your soul.. this certainly does challenge religion today! Also challenges how far people will go to protect freedom, faith, religion..and everything that makes our countries strong and proud! Thank you so much for sharing... sure fires me up and gives me alot to think about! =)

I think you have confused faith with religion. They are two seperate beasts. However, with that being said, I have to agree with much of this. You have stated with accuracy one of the three roots of all evil. The other two being greed and lust in their various forms and stages. Anyway, kudos to you.

From what I have read of your other writing, this poem seems to flow more smoothly. It also has a better rhyme scheme. Furthermore, it is very thought-provoking, and made me think about different outlooks towards the way we live. What do other readers think, I wonder?

A number of different concepts are referenced, such as "faith", "salvation", human desire for "wealth" and even "ignorance"! A fine poem, and very interesting to read. Thankyou kindly, for sharing this with us!

Who will be next, to add a piece of writing to my Group, "Twilight's Disciples"? Could it be you, I wonder?

Amazing. The best stanza ever: "we seek foя sanity/ we seek foя health/ we'яe lost in vanity/ and kill foя wealth." It's probably the best bit from most of your work. Kudos.

This poem made me think about life and about my faith. So many times we are tested in this life it seems. A very well written piece. Thank you so much for sharing. Debileah
