Street Clown

Street Clown

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

Today I wake up, not willing to
another day to fulfill
I'll be the fool for you
in exchange for some coins to pay the bill
I'll hide my sorrows and make you smile
as you make your way home in time
and I'll stay here again for a while
to see if someone spares a dime.

I'm the one who'll try to make you feel better
but when you arrive home tonight
look to yourself in the mirror with your fancy sweater
and think for a second my life's a fight.

Seems we've walked a few streets after dark and before the dawn. Know about rain and life too.

This one has me thinking of "Teddy Bear..."

the concept is beautiful but as you already said, there is bad grammar!

As far as clown's go I can't stand them I have always been afraid of them since I was little I found this piece of writing quite interesting though I think my favorite line was " I'll hide my sorrow's and make you smile " It has so much meaning to it about what people have about another person or I think in this case for oneself If it Isn't about this one person just let me know. Good piece of writing excellent as it is.

I like clowns .. and I like this poem and I would like to read mor from you, or this other guy, what was his name ;-)?

No, honestly!
I don't think it's only the street clowns you're writing about ... aren't we all street clowns, like you describe them, or at least many of us .. trying to hide our sorrow to make anyone we like feel better ...
Or maybe it's just me again, trying to find the whole world in one line.

This is very dark YET poignant! It always amazes me how some just walk past you...with empty eyes and never realize your struggles. I enjoyed reading this piece. Great job!

I like this and the meaning behind it.
Thsi is very well written and expressed.

The mask that people wear. I like the concept, but moreover how it can be applied literally and figuratively. Aren't we all entertainers? Trying to please our peers and family? And we wear this mask, so no one sees 'the fight' inside.
Nice write.
Cheers.

Seems that whilst you get paid for acting the fool, you maybe see the other person as the fool .. quite a concept:

' look to yourself in the mirror with your fancy sweater ~ and think for a second my life's a fight.'

This a bitter-sweet poem, masking, literally, sadness and hurt .. beautifully phrased.
