The Cello

The Cello

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

Swiftly my fingers cross above you
they make their way from your neck
which melody shall I imbue?
a heartless sound in air is just a speck
your body sings to the bow I master
the very artifact to create beauty
my name is art, I shall play faster
pleasing the ears is our duty.

A long night passed
our souls sweaty they rest
we save the best for last
now, let's leave them impressed!

This beautiful and flowing and touches the heart.. the cello, passion wrapped in music.

Like some other readers I wish it was longer.. it could be but then, the poem's brevity makes it magical.

Thank you for sharing.

Seductive, mesmerizing and enchanting.

The flow and meter is excellant.

My favorite line "which melody shall I imbue?"

Kudos on a great write,

I love the passion in this piece and without the title this could be ambiguous. I agree with the mystery poet...this poem is good but if this piece was extended it could be even better.

Your passion is truly reflected in this poem, you have a natural talent for this, I'm jealous :)
This is beautidul and somewhat with the touch of romance, well done.

Amazing.
I've always been captivated by the Cello.
And the way you express the act of playing it leaves me gasping.
Magical, enchanting, and a little bit intoxicating.
Very well done.

This poem is very good, which is the reason why i wish it was longer so it can captivate the true passion you have for the cello.

Beautiful, lyrical, and just flowing with passion.

When I was little it was always a mystery how people created so many words inside a few pages, inside a whole 1 chapter and now it's more of a mystery, or more of an amazment that this short poem is so pretty and so meaningful.

Wonderful job:).

Although this is a short poem, it still has significant meaning. The way I understood this one, is as a homage or testament to the greatness of art? I found your second verse to be quite uplifting, actually. However, in order to have a stronger influence on the reader, a poem usually needs to be longer than this. Also, it flows quite well (better than in your piece of writing which featured the black rose). You are clearly an emerging talent, and a credit to my Group, "Twilight's Disciples"!
