Because I Could

Because I Could

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

I took fate in hand
just as everyone told me to
forget the rest, do not withstand
fight if you have to, no matter who.

I took this teachings within my heart
and fought tirelessly to achieve my dreams
lost my friends, my family torn apart
I knew the risks... of chasing whims.

Alone I ponder, why did I?
Was it for my own good?
Sadly, I can't deny
it was, because I could.

Gee
Why did you do that?
Because I could.
And more often than not without a thought for the outcome of our actions. That reads like my late teens early twenties.Enjoyed this Su
