It's a calm day, the sky blue, the water blue-er. A gentle breeze swept through the words and carressed my face with smooth, cool hands. My hair blew back relaxedly, glinting in the warm sun. I looked up, seeing perfect blue sky that looked like if you reached your hand up to touch it, it would feel like billowy silk. The bright sun smiled down at us, it's golden rays wise, whispering stories through the birds of all that it had brought light upon. I looked down, into the calm sea, promising a smooth and refreshing escape from the bothers and troubles of the far-from-perfect world that is mine. I take a last gulp of air, sweet in the way that it is reliable, unlike all else, and sweet in the way that soon I shall be temporarily free. I dive in, letting the pure blue and chilly moisture envelope me. My mind lets go, diminishes all my worries and fears. There is endless blue on three sides of me, a reef, bursting with life and color, to the fourth. I know where to go. I begin to swim, underwater, slicing through the blissful sea. I glide towards the reef, a small imperfection in a vast ocean of serenity. The reef comes up close, and my destination is reached. I look around. Fish in vibrant colors dart into crevices and through sea plants, without a care in the world. Coral rises up in a massive wall of colors before me, fueling life for so many things. A sea anenome's strands swirl slowly with the slight current, and a family of clown fish dart between them, the light dancing off their orange and white scales. Little patterns of light reflect off the many fish's scales onto the coral, sprakling like little golden dancers. Even the few sharks over by the kelp seem to be soothed by this breathtaking wonder. I am at awe, but completely happy. This is my true home. This is where my heart is. This is where I will always belong. Here, in the quiet, in the calm, in the colorful, in the perfect undersea world.
