Question of Fear

Question of Fear

A knife to your back
The sweat runs down
Your fear controls you

The sharp pain overwhelms
As the blade breaks the skin
your fear of death runs wild

A scream pierces the dark
Silence follows, peace overcomes
Unseen, you breath your last

Another one has fallen
Fear not fore you weren't the first
Nor shall you be the last

Once in a lifetime
We all will face our own death
It is that moment, most fear

When my time comes
Will I fear
Or boldly face the challenge?

Does one define themselves
In the life they live or the death they die
We shall see

I liked the theme which you delivered in poetic prose Although I feel it would have more impact if it were meterd and preferably rhymed
The acid test is to have it read aloud It should flow smoothly as melted butter on hot toast
