Eternity Of Life

Eternity Of Life

Before you get the chance
It will pass you by
Leaving only the loneliness
Emptiness that was once
Full and complete

No amount of searching
Pleading will return it
Nothing you do or say
Can turn back the tides
That ever roll on

Ever turbulent are the seas
Never stopping for mortal man
Bending at the will of one
Giving life and taking it
Onward ever onward

Mortal life only comes once
Bringing the joys and blessings
And the sorrow and pain
We live as we will die
Only differs in the details

Worshiping one or another
As on through the ages has proven
Believing that one brings life and takes
Exercising the mind
Reveling in the thought of eternity

An eternity of hope and blessing
A hope of saving grace
Extended by the worshipped
Upon the worshiper
Eternity of life given
