A Journey

Once on the path
I set off to worlds unknown
Running through the strange
Staying between the beacons
Guiding me by their light

Tripping I fall to the mud
A hand reaches to me
And plucks me out
Of the miry clay
In which I wallow

Standing before the figure
I am embarrassed for them
To see me covered in dirt
From head to toe
In the dirt that makes me ugly

They step back
I think they are going to leave
The figure looks me up and down
Nodding it's head
It steps toward me

Opening their arms
The figure embraces me
And in turn shows me
That it to is covered in dirt
From the same place

The figure then takes my hand
And tells me to come
And off together we run
Following the guiding lights
To destinations unrevealed.
