My Neat Little Box

My Neat Little Box

My neat little box
The one over there in the corner
Yes, the one by itself
Hidden, tucked away

It is a pretty little box
Perfectly formed
Beautifully decorated
But hidden

I keep it there
So it won't interfere
Nice and neat
Yet ever so out of sight

I stare upon it
From time to time
Making sure it's not disturbed
Hidden away from others' eyes

Sometimes I like
My little box
The symbol of perfect efficiency
But I leave it in the dark

Sometimes I hate
That gaudy little thing
Wishing it would disappear
Trying to grant that by keeping it here

What, you want
A closer look
Sure be my guest
But leave it hidden

Why is it hidden
Because I can't show
Anyone what's inside
So hidden it remains

What's inside
I cannot tell you
It is a secret
So in the dark it must be

What's that sound
Wait what are you doing
Don't open my box
It's meant to be hidden

Please I beg of you
Do not open it
What is inside
I don't want anyone to see

Wait you don't know
What you are doing
You've opened my...
LONLINESS
