Rendez-vous

I place my hand upon the brass handle

And open the elegant oak door and step inside

Inside I see you through the silk curtain

Standing at the open window

A warm tropical breeze flows through the room

Bringing with it the smell of the Caribbean

Out the window I see the lush greenery of the palms

My gaze falls back on you

You are in an elegant brown dress

Your beautiful black hair is flowing in the breeze

You have your hair up and

You are wearing your black framed glasses

On your feet is an elegant pair of high heels

I walk toward you, through the room

Which is decorated with colorful bouquets of tropical flowers

I pull back the silk curtain

And you finally notice me

You turn towards me and smile

Your smile melts my heart and

I smile in return, trying to suppress the butterflies

You walk toward me and I toward you

We meet in front of another large open window

I hold out my hands and

You place your hands in mine

And I awake from my dream
With no one in front of me
No hands in mine
