ColourA Poem by West of EveryoneA poem on my current outlook and desire in life
Grey hues adorn the walls of my world
Each step down the hall as colourless as the last Occasionally a splash of joyous colour fills a room Only to mute and return to a sullen grey Eyes dreary, scan the pictures on the walls Drifting from scene to scene, face to face Empty grey eyes staring through me Ashen smiles, frown and smirks meet my gaze I long to see their colour, their bright expression Just a faint hint of colour to emanate But none of the pictures change They all keep coming and going in the same fashion My mind holds a dream, a desire, a cherished hope That one picture will ignite the colour in my world One that will not dim, but flourish it's warmth continuously Filling every hall, every room, every facet until the grey fades Yet here my grey world revolves, waiting, watching, hoping For the colour to return and remain until the end Embracing me with it's warm, loving arms Smiling as my lips press against it, washing away all garish thought. ~West © 2019 West of EveryoneFeatured Review
