Some advice for a lonely wife

Some advice for a lonely wife

A Poem by Wandering Minstrel

Some advice for a lonely wife
who still loves in spite of it all
through the endless torment of deceit,
and the gleam that grows dull in
the eyes of one you love
when the truth be told,
and the heart goes still,
and the soul shrivels,
and the trust rusts,
forever stained by lures of lust,
and the eyes wet,
and the love begins to crumble
under the weight of minor indiscretions
nights away till late
strip joints and peep shows
drunken acts whispered about
rumours of dancing with another
flirting with some other
dancing on the edge of infidelity
these seem to pile up heavier
with each accusation...
give him a chance,
just one more to turn it all around,
to scrape the rust from your trust,
to devote his time to you for a while
without the need for escape
from what you should both hold precious,
strip dance for him
in the privacy of your home,
bring him a drink or two each weekend,
at home safe from temptations other then you,
and then tip him in a way he will not forget
for his patronage of your love.
Fight for it before it is gone
or just let it die quietly in a bar
somewhere south of your love.

beautifully rendered with emotion and imagery, well done my friend.

I really liked how most of this strung together as though it was one thought. The only advice I would have would be to make the advice a separate stanza to make it more evident. Really awesome work on this.

Very creative title. The words are expressive and relatable, original and flowing.

I enjoyed this. It has pleasing flow, and a wonderful, direct and coherent narrative.

But as a woman and a wife, and a lonely one at that, I have to say that not all situations of decay and rusted trust fit this mold. Oh, if only it were so simple a repair for us all.

Some very good advice from a male point of view.
Certainly every relationship has experienced this.

certainly a remedy for a man with a wandering eye, how to keep your husband satisfied before he slips over the edge into the land of affairs, an excellent poem on this but how about another for men on how to keep their wives satisfied before they to slip away, great work Mr. Minstrel another of your wondrous songs.
