Stone heart

Stone heart

A Poem by Wandering Minstrel

somewhere within
that stone heart
that was taken for granite,
lies a vein of gold
that is truly precious,
and no one has yet
been able to expose it
by digging deep enough
and uncovering
just what you need
and want in order to
make your life and
theirs more worthy.
But someday all that
glitters will be
yours and his,
and a small piece of it
will encircle your fingers
and be cherished
in the walls of two hearts

Loved this from the first line. You had me hooked in with your fun double meanings. Wonderful metaphor and imagery as well as a narrative hidden between the lines as well.

that was taken for granite

My favorite line, brilliant use of work play. Fantastic new poem my friend!
