Life’s Unfinished Chapters

Life’s Unfinished Chapters

A Poem by Arthur Henn

Life’s Unfinished Chapters

I just exited out this back door,
This back door I was standing in,
I just exited out this back door
This back door I just walked through,
You've been,
You've been waiting,
I've been waiting, waiting so long for you
Waiting so long for an opportunity,
An opportunity of true love,
True love, watching, seeing
Seeing true love, true love come my way,
Come my way and dance right into my life

Life's Unfinished Chapters

This book, this book of love,
This book called love,
Love it sits on its shelf,
A shelved journal of words
Words just waiting to be opened
Opened and read, reading
Reading Its sea blown pages
Blown winds, sea blown pages
Winds dancing in the irises of your eyes
Bringing your eyes to page 135,
Page 135 dances upon your heart,
Our hearts read where I've been,
Where I'm willing to let my heart take you and I

Life's Unfinished Chapters

It has So many past dues
So many past dues I don't want to look back,
I don't want to look back at all
All I want you to do
All I want you to do is move forward,
Forward I hear you say, but I can't
I can not move forward until I finish your book
The one you started,
You start reading all over again
All over again
Again from page one to one-thirty-five,
Only to start crying,
Crying, you hear my soft whisper

Life's Unfinished Chapters

There’s no reason to cry, it’s just a summer rain
A summer rain falling upon
Upon life's unfinished chapters
Come over here,
Come over here, let me wipe your tears
A journal of loves soaked tears
Loves soaked pages of tears
Tears and more pages
Pages of all you have left to show
Left to show how much you loved him
Your soul is a spirit of beauty,
A spirit of beauty looking down,
Looking down upon you, closing the book

Life's Unfinished Chapters

Watching the words disappear into the air
Watching the words disappear into thin air
Looking up, smiling,
Seeing me standing there beside you,
I whisper
Take my hand, take my hand love
Lights are turned down low
We look into each others eyes
I pick you up, and and carry you to a bed
A bed made for two
Two souls become one, the moon closes it’s eyes
We both smile,
We both smile and whisper into one another’s ear

I love you

Two souls in motion
In motion with each other,
Embracing what will become a memory in time
A memory in time
No longer do we have to wait
No longer do we have to wait for a door
Wait for a door to open
You no longer have to wait by the door
True love has found you
Our heart's, have found each other,
Only a heart beat away, love shared
Love shared bringing in a new chapter
A new chapter in life

Life's Unfinished Chapters

No longer a memory,
No longer a memory,
A heart beat brought to life,
Conceived by a gift
A gift of a higher power
A higher power of what love truly is
Two souls
A man and a woman
We complete that of love
We both can now re-open the book
Re-open and begin writing a new story of love
A story of love to continue
What he has not been able to finish
