Fallen in Love Again

Young and restless they were, think of a time that  passed them by.
Their hourglass of time has emptied its self,
waiting for another turn of the hands on their clock.

Remembering that smile, the first day of summer when they said hello.
They knew then, they were the only ones,
the ones they wanted to spend all their life with.
Now they set, looking upon an empty hourglass of time.

We see the reflection in its glass, two trains going nowhere,
running in different directions, a path into horizons of nowhere.
Nobody said it would be easy.
Wait a minute,
it's a memory overload lost upon a midsummer's love affair.

Need you know, you don't even listen to the words I write?  - He says,
you don't even listen to what I say - She says.
Now we watch them fall into the arms of another.
Their minds, taunt, outraged, its reverie of a love they shared.

A woman's love, her love.
A man's love, his love - it drifts out with this song of summer,
where do they  go from here.
The coolness of midnight summers dream
it now embraces the horizons windowpanes of autumn,
closing in upon this soon to be lonely heart of there's.

Something about what these two did now,
it becomes an album cover of love songs.
Love songs ready to be played again, falling in love again,
they stand watching the last of summers final twilight hour;
it fades out into a star filled night of what was,
waiting for this pillow of dreams they now lie their heads down on,
seeing the reality of summer come to an end.
They fallen in love again.

Sad but sad and sadder ... but then the album rises like a phoenix our of the flames of lost love and lives again .. what a finish.

Love the way you've gone from straight prose to prose poetry, somehow the combination of the two sets the tone for the ending.

Happy to have read all of this story at long last, sincere apologies for being so late in keeping a promise.
