Chapter IV: HauntedA Chapter by SheikIn my dream I’m standing in a dark void. Pyrrus is next to me stroking my cheek. I close my eyes and lean into him, absorbing as much of him as I can. He takes a step back still holding me and looks into my eyes. A look of horrible pain fills his and a strained gasp escapes his lips. It is then that I see the knife, but just as quick as it appears it is withdrawn and falls to the floor with him. The murderer is nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, Pyrrus’s eyes glaze over and he stands up. No blood comes from his gaping wound. His body turns pitch black. A sphere of light, fire and water combined, forms in his hands. It explodes, sending a wave of water so cold it burns my skin. It startles me awake still feeling engulfed in icy heat. In the morning I can’t find Orion. He must have gone hunting so I search for him. I find him walking through the forest. “It’s you,” he says, holding my face like Pyrrus from the dream. “Why are you touching my face?” I ask him in shock. “It’s me, Pyrrus.” “No. You’re Orion.” I smile at him humorously, hiding my hurt feelings. “What?” He looks at himself skeptically. “Quit teasing me like that.” “What happened to me?” His face is seriously confused. © 2022 Sheik |
