Life for SubstanceA Poem by The Last Poetic Kingpoetry, lyrics. something i felt the need to write
You're just not the same.. Anymore
Filling your body with substance, Just trying to forget that you feel Trying to deny your humanity There used to be a time that I thought you'd be the one But I can see now that was the foolish person I used to be Believing that you could ever truly love someone like me Just a s****y kid with a s****y life trying to hang on to anything To anything that he thought was worth the fight, But I don't know anymore When I saw you in that restaurant at 5 in the morning Something balled up inside me, something, maybe a warning I was a fool to ever think you could be who you used to be Is the substance really worth the death? Is this the story you wrote in your head when you were only a kid? Lying down, unable to breath, just hating everything Hoping that something or someone will see you A blond girl lost in misery, But it's no mystery, Who is at fault. You made your choices, You choose your death over your love And there is no going back, One day you'll find yourself on your back With one last breath, I wonder if you'll look back full of regret I wonder if you'll look back at all of this I wonder if you'll look back I wonder if you'll look back There used to be a time that I thought you'd be the one But I can see now that was the foolish person I used to be Believing that you could ever truly love someone like me Just a s****y kid with a s****y life trying to hang on to anything To anything that he thought was worth the fight, But I don't know anymore © 2015 The Last Poetic King |
