From My Throat to My Heart

From My Throat to My Heart

A Poem by The Last Poetic King

Spent this life inside of broken thoughts
Dreams of you but you're too far, I can't reach
Your hand slipped away, away from me
And I swear every night I'll meet you there,
Somewhere between the beginning and the end of the song
Reaching for your hand, just trying to grab you so frantically
Reaching for memories that I can't let end
Tell me you'll always be there for me
Remind me, I am not alone
Growing old in these frantic bones
Just hoping you'll see me again
Like all those letters wrote,
I will burn from the start of my throat to the bottom of my heart
Just to try and pick up the pieces
And I swear every night I'll meet you there
Somewhere between the beginning and the end of the song
