![]() The Beast WithinA Poem by The Last Poetic King![]() Conflicting emotions. The Yin and the Yang. The inability to accept the flaws of both the light in the dark. Unable to respect the good, but unable to let go of the bad.![]()
Everything is upside down,
Right side up. Looking at the sun, but it's the moon A thousand hearts consumed, Monstrosity, is it me? Am I the beast lurking in the trees? Do you feel pain? Do you feel hate? What is the difference between love and loathe? Can you understand? Do you know what it is you wove? Riddle by riddle, Finding myself in this inescapable hell What have I done to deserve this? Where will I find a break? There is a man in the mirror, He is staring back at me, Calm eyes and youthful appearance But the whispers are of the devil himself He seeks to break free, this parallel world Who is it? Is it me? Surely it is, but why does he wish to break free? The yin to the yang, But who can relinquish in the pain? Who can dabble in the mystic arts, who can mend a million hearts? If they should feel pain, I'd rather it be me But see, he can not escape what has been put on his plate Unable to chew what he has bit off And so he screams Is the devil living deep inside? Is this a man who has no pride? Among the trees, that beast that lurks Snatching hearts and shattering them like glass Is this beast really me? Or is it someone else entirely?
