![]() If Only But A DreamA Poem by The Last Poetic KingThere was once a dream of absolution, The freedom of speech without media pollution In this dream were the beautiful weavers of time and space, Through the windows of those eyes, a journey to an unexplored place Deeper and deeper into the unexplored mines Searching for the loot of treasures so divine The secrets to the soul, to the moon's eclipse At last we had found, but surely did miss A heart crafted from crystals Oh how remarkable this was! But only a dream and nothing more Of uncharted worlds we once explored Through valley's so wide it would take a life-time to cross Into the lowest parts of the ocean in which man would be crushed Above rainbows and arising farther into the sky, Away from the world that we had simply let die The dream was vivid and ripe, out of the boundries of time Oh how it seemed like centuries did I sleep We would never see this grow to blossom This dream of ancients long forgotten And how the wind did blow hair astrew And how the oceans could never look so blue The sky was remarkable, I wish you knew That beyond the sky was a lifetime forgotten, But in this heart the memory would forever blossom If only a dream and nothing more, One would hope this is what awaited us beyond that last door.
