Black Shuck

Black Shuck

A Poem by Artemis Lykaios Nightshade
"

Look at it three times in the eyes, you will die.

"

Fur black as the night sky.

Eyes red as bright red blood.

Walking on all fours wandering around the grave.

I only looked at him once to see what it looks like.

He was ths scariest I've ever seen.

Don't look at him! You'll die!

My friends out warn.

I would hear the howls of the daemon dog.

That daemon dog, is a black shuck.

Hiding in the shadows of the night.

Seeking its prey.

Silently telling us to look three times.

I look at a second time.

Wondering, how I would time.

When I look at him the third and final time.

I go down to the gravyard,

On a cliff above the ocean blue.

I pay my respects for the fallen.

I turn around to see the dog.

I was about to close my eyes but it was too late.

I looked at it for the third and final time.

My eyes rolled back,

My head titled back,

I breathed my last,

And fell into the ocean blue.

Dead and gone.
