RainstormsA Poem by ArsenicA poem about one of natures greatest gifts and most beautiful things, a rainstorm. Growing up in Georgia one experiences many and I am gald that I did.Stillness settles in the forest A flash of light dances in the sky overhead Twisting, turning, leaping through the cloudy sky Thunder booms and echoes Calling for the first wave of water
Rain pours from the sky in sheets Drop by drop the heavens are drained Drenching all beneath Causing growth and life Fullifillment
Overhead the sound of water pounding the canopy Protecting the ground below Allowing only small warm drops To penetrate its green portective shield
The water slowly tapers to a stop Leaving a silence so complete Screaming in its very unnatural tranquility The thunder booms and echoes far away
