Tigress

Tigress

A Poem by Arsenic
"

Perserverance and Pride

"

The woman with the eyes of green

Stopped to stare and look at me

And in her eyes I saw this story

A woman who fell on hard times and bad luck

A woman just trying to make a buck

A woman who's name was dragged through the muck

As a child death was all around

And no love was ever found

Disease and hate was abound

But within all these hard times I saw hope

And a woman who did not want to mope

She wanted to hold her head high

Be brave and face the world, a tigress forever

The woman with the eyeys of green

Stopped to stare and look at me

And in ther eyes I saw this story.

The poem reminded me a certain poem during the black civil rights movement. Your poem is a reflection on that in my opinion. The thing that is unique in your poem is that it can be applied universally to anyone. I love how you presented it with clear images and symbols. Nice overall.
