Bound with the MoonA Poem by ArrinaeA dark twisted poem based off the Nest Entertainment tale called 'The Swan Princess'.He found her standing in the water, The maiden given to him by her father. Lunar light touches the lake, Never could he foresee this fate. A pain filled cry rips through the air, The sight before him too horrid to bare. Her bones bend and break, Rearranging themselves, too much to take. Bloodied feathers break free from her skin, And her form seems to collapse within. Her screams grow warped and tangled, Her neck grows as she struggles as if strangled. The sound dies down as her face alters, The words her father would say if he saw his daughter. A cruel man laughs done with his ruse His taunting words reveal the truth. She attacked the man who bound her to the moon, For she wanted to be whole, forever and soon. His bow and arrow, her love drew, She was his, tried and true. Slew the evil that forced them apart, But nothing would go back to the start. Bound to a form not her own, His swan dies broken, but never alone. © 2019 ArrinaeReviews
