Slow

Slow

A Poem by Quill
"

one of those days

"

Repetition breeds tiring boredom

Though routines are prime to living

At time things must be diverse

Walking similar routes aches the mind

Flexibilities are a necessity

Else one attains insanity and unawareness

The resident after taste is weakening

Hence one must make things alluring

Thus ridding oneself from conceding

I enjoyed reading this and I just finished a very similar conversation on the phone. I was speaking about the need of kids to have outlets and creative venues for personal expression. Hobbies and interests in various things help guide them towards a life of exploration and a love of learning. Boredom can be such a self-destructive tendency leading many down a path towards alcohol, drugs and despondency. While interest in life is a great thwart to depression and anxiety. I just bought my granddaughter a telescope for her birthday. She's turning seven. She sent me pictures of her newest interest which is weaving. She's begun crafting her own cloth on a rigid heddle loom. I just love it. There's just so much to learn and so many ways to express our enthusiasm in creative ventures. But sometimes it requires trying something new to give us that boost of inspiration. Thanks for sharing your writing. F.

Yes, things can become boring if we allow ourselves to become too predictable. We all need routine, but we should allow room for flexibility and inspiration.
