Dialogue

Dialogue

A Poem by Quill
"

speak

"

The need to speak can never be overemphasized

For I believe negotiation is the only resolution

What comes to question is the technique

The knowledge of what to say and how to say it

When such tact is attained excellence is sure

Not surprising the chaos poor speech causes

Opportunities could be passed up

And unneeded enemies could be made

Perhaps poor thoughts results in poor words

So a better pattern of thought is recommended

One which can ameliorate speech

We must be careful with our dispositions

For it is easy for one to lean on one of two extremes

One shows weakness and becomes anemic

The other is rash incoherent and creates nihilism

A proper speech is sound and reasonable

A sound speech is respectful and confident

It is both intellectually and emotionally assertive

When all parties in a negotiation resolve to this doctrine

Then that can be seen as excellent dialogue

Well stated. For productive dialogue to take place first there must be desire on both parts. It doesn't matter how logical the explanations are if the other side does not want to hear. Dialogue implies two. Starting the conversation with something that the other side wants to hear is a good way to engage them. Well written
