Pulchritude from the frolic domain

Pulchritude from the frolic domain

A Poem by Quill
"

An unknown beauty

"

The lore of uncertainty has given me an intriguing revelation
I am in no control of what fate befalls me
I have lived with an array of beliefs
Beliefs which were established from certain rules
Some of which were more restrictive than protective
I realize there is a need to look beyond my veil
One which had blinded me for an eternity
With my eyes now opened I can perceive accurately
I took a chance in exploration
Leaving my place of comfort was trifling yet I proceeded
I ventured into lands I once swore to never tread
As expected it was filled with every trouble I hoped to evade
It oozed with unending decadence
And powered by youthful exuberance
By mere observation I could sense the repercussions to come with indulgence
Of those who partook of these merriments was a lady of prominence
As others she wore an attire fit for this irritable occasion
She claimed interest in my presence but I ignored her allure
She carried beauty however that was always a palpable feature
I waited for her to avert her gaze and I fled the turf
For such a place was of no relevance to me
I returned to serenity
I always found joy in my quiet place
Yet this beauty managed to invade my serene paradise
She began by gleefully summoning my presence
At first I evaded her inveiglements
But this beauty was relentless
I paused my evasions and decided to return the courtesy
After all it was the mannered approach to things
Then I realized i had connected with true beauty
I found this beaut to be more than extrinsic features
Her words had captivated me like a siren's tune
Her smile had become ineluctable
I tried to deny the existence of such artistry
Yet it reinforced each time and developed more glamor
Her fairness, I could see it all, I could feel it all
I could see the winsomeness in her body, soul and mind
There are no sufficient fusion of words to articulate such perfection
There is only one perplexity which I am left to ponder
What have I done to be deserving of such pulchritude?

Sometimes going outside of one's comfort zone can be dangerous, but also rewarding. Here, it appears the latter was the case. Still, it does pay to be careful at all times.
