Do better

the Luther Strode principle

The past is gone

The future is yet to come

But the present must be harnessed 

One must not let the bygone linger

Or allow the unknown instill fear

All that must be considered is here and now

Hence there are no excuses or regret

No complaints or weaknesses

There shall only be conviction

One which breeds nothing but excellence

For we cannot change the past

And barely can we assure the future

The most important is the now

We must ensure we have improved from our yesterday

Our minds and hearts must be set on this course

And we shall acquire the will to progress

We must bear the mantle of greatness

And acquire the armor of effectiveness

Thereby drinking from the chalice of amelioration 

I am now committed to this course

And by doing so I shall be magnanimous 

Every form of suffering shall be abated

Every evil is diminished

All that is attained is pure

I will simply do better

Author's Note

an understanding of making things in life more meaningful by adopting the comic book character principle from "Legacy of Luther Strode" which is do better, involving not acting out of resentment or other negative emotions but by doing the best we possibly can at any given time.
