prosaic virtues

A Poem by Quill
"

learning to appreciate others

"
The constant elation of my existence has bared it's defects-
How could I have thought I surpassed these creatures-
Indeed I have been blinded by self indulgence-
Now I have caused harm to no one but myself-
I always believed ameliorating myself was without contention-
Now I see the need to keep my milieu in high regards-
For they do have considerably significant roles to play-
They may have their faults but then again who doesn't-
It is unethical to dwell on their balky features-
The curbing of these scourges emanates from within-
However adapting to these units come with utmost difficulty-
Well the surmounting of such difficulties defines the fine lines in life-
Therefore I will give myself virgin resolution-
For these trifles truly are virtues-

can anyone relate to the decision to transform the world by transforming themselves?

you can change the world with only what you can.. i remember socrates with his philosophy on the last line that for these trifles truly are virtues.
