It’s an interesting concept that questions relativism, and I would say leads to questions the concept of moral relativism(a theory that I believe calls for everything to mean nothing).
I would say the creator of something is who gives meaning to something, and I do believe humanity has a creator.
I do not believe the Devine Command Thoery(which states whatever the creator says is good, is good) is an adequate argument to reject moral relativism, but I do believe the concept of this argument is adequate to reject relativism when it comes to people’s worth.
I hope some of that made enough sense to benefit your ponding of the question what gives a human value.
I enjoyed your thought provoking read.

hmm very thought provoking. I've often wondered that too and do we all fall into that trap of accepting some and not others without even realizing? Good read.

That was a meaningful and kinda of confusing peom. I think the value of a person is about who they, in my mind. Also, we are the things in the universe of nothing, don't you think?
what a wonderful thought provoking piece. one of the most meaningful poems i have read on here. to be honest, all men are born equal and in the Lord's sight we are all worth the same cos we all have an opportunity at salvation and being a better man. everything else in this world is sheer vanity as we ourselves created it to make our selves better than the next man. stuff like politics and positions such as kings and presidents was just made by people. money is an object that can be gone in a split second, so what really is left is the soul of a man and on that basis alone should true value be weighed. thanks so much for this poem i wish more people could read it and find true enlightenment.
A very thought provoking write Arnold. I believe what gives a human being value is the fact that God created us in His own image. That has to be VERY special. I like the way you write and make your reader think! ~Sharon

so what you are saying is all humans have equal value being made by GOD, thanks for your review
This poem is a deep and thoughtful one. What gives a person value indeed? I agree that the societal norm of attributing value based on 'success' is misguided. Do I have a better idea? How about decency? That might be a good place to start.
I completely relate to this poem and in my opinion, the society indeed places value on certain individuals because of what they have. However,i feel that there's nothing more valuable than kindness and humility, without those qualities we are nothing.
Great piece indeed, made me percieve life in a more mature way
