Why is Stacey Roberts greenA Story by Sean Armstrongjust a short piece of writing explaining why my character Stacey Roberts has green skinWhy is Stacey Roberts Green? My name is Sean Armstrong as you all know by now I am the
author and creator of The Green Girl series. Stacey Roberts one of the series
leading characters and the first of many Mega Humans was based on an
ex-girlfriend of mine who behaved and had the same name as her for all of you
that know this. Why did I decide to give her green skin? What was the reason
for this? Well I will tell you the real Stacey Roberts was a wonderful young
woman and I spent many months with, we went out with each other drinking, eating
out and more importantly talking, one day I was telling her about the fact that
I was writing fan fiction and she said to me why was I doing that? She said
that I should be writing my own stories as clearly I had a talent for writing.
As she was saying this she gave me a challenge to write and to come up with my
own British Super Heroine, at first I didn’t know where to start as I had never
done this before I started drafting ideas thinking of a device that would
transform someone into a super human this evolved and transformed into the
serum then I drafted an idea for a character by the name of Sarah Young a young
police officer in Manchester who was shot in the line of duty, to survive her
injures she was injected with the serum turning her skin a shade of blue. This
idea was quickly scraped and I began thinking of other ideas for my main
character as well as a name. During this time Stacey had invited me back to her
place for a meal and drinks I went as I knocked on her flat door she came out
and I had the surprise of my life, Stacey had painted herself head to toe in
green body paint she wore a blue coloured formal dress which matched the paint
which she wore. I went inside and sat with her as I did this she leaned over
towards me smiling at me and rubbing her body close to mine saying that she
loved me, she then leaned herself forward her lips close to mine ready to plant
a kiss, temptation was on my mine and I nearly gave in my eyes closed as I
could feel her lips nearly touching my own. Then something snapped and my eyes
flicked open I looked at her and then told her that I couldn’t do what she
wanted as before I had met her I had been in a relationship with a ex married
woman who’s ex husband had been jealous. Unfortunately I had not been ready for
another one as it was too soon to earlier before Stacey could say anything I
gathered my things and left leaving her alone still painted green. My heart was
in my mouth and it was beating fast what made Stacey do what she had done? Why
had she painted herself green? Also why did she try and do what she did with
me? I only saw her as a friend nothing more. I went back home and locked myself
away thinking of nothing more than to rid myself of the memory of what had just
happened. Morning then broke and I was just as puzzled as to what had happened
the night before just as I was collecting myself my mobile rang I picked it up
expecting it to be someone else it was Stacey who told me that she was thinking
of leaving Stoke on Trent for Manchester University would I come with her?
Shocked I told her that I had no place with her and than Stoke was part of my
life I put the phone down and that was the last time that I ever spoke to her
or heard from her. A few days later I went back to my writing sitting down I began
thinking of the main characters name I thought of Stacey Roberts and decided to
name and base her on my old friend and flame giving her green skin. This idea
was perfect I have often thought how she would have reacted to this and have
thought if she still thinks about me like I do with her. What I did was a
mistake and I regret it I gave up on someone great better than my other ex’s
and better than those who came after to me Stacey Roberts was the original
