The promise found in fire

The promise found in fire

A Poem by Hunter Nolan
"

Magical how promises are still kept after broken hearts.

"

As I hold the ashes

And smile at the embers,

I think back on the abuse

The deception

The Hatred.

I toss the ashes away,

Just like all the burdens I held

Oh, how the warmth of the flames comfort me

How they soothe my nerves

How the smoke encircles me as I  walk down the path

The path we once walked on.

I walk through these ashes, and the rubble

And I inhale these fumes

The smoke brings me relief.

But something catches my eye...

Something in the ashes glistening, shining.

It was the necklace you wore.

The one I gave you

When I promised eternity.

I stoop down and pick it up, and feel it's hot metallic surface warm my hand

And I throw it back down, remembering what you said:

"I'll wear this forever, 'til the day I die"

It seems those words were true.

Can not believe how vivid and inspiring it is simply amazing!

You pyromaniac! This appealed to me because I pictured a guy who burned down his exlover's house while she was in it. Awesome revenge then reminiscing about the things she said and what not.

P.S.
Welcome to the coven!
