Benny, King of SwingA Poem by ArlineI've recently obtain an interest in jazz music especially Benny Goodman. So, here's a little something for and his song Sing, Sing, Sing."Sing,Sing, Sing" Got to love that song that’s sweet, It matters not if
you’re young or old You got to join this
good time swing.
Grab a boy or girl
that’s free, Music man, playing
off the sheet How’d ya make such rhythmic
gold? Got all dancing to
that good time swing, Hear those trumpets be blowing, Stomp my feet to that
cello beat. Hear those drums be
beating, It’s the orchestra of
the Swinging King.
Music man, playing
your clarinet, How’d ya know to play
with soul? Been blowing that
pipe when only ten years old, Kept on playing, till
the day you grew old.
Do right, do right You King of Swing. Blowing on that
clarinet brings joy to my ears Making all my worries disappear.
Music helped to save
my soul That King of Swing;
he knew music’s glow. Kept music swinging all
to heaven’s door,
Got to love that good
time swing. © 2015 ArlineAuthor's Note
