While this isn't the first time I've read this poem... :) nor my first chance to comment... Each time I read it... still fresh to me like winter's first snow..., the desert's first bloom...
I'm deeply touched by you in ways you don't even know yet, cuz as most people know I SUCK at really opening up and letting anyone inside! :) I've had my reasons for building this garrison of fortitude..., not because of you..., no, definitely not because of you...
It warms me to know you now hear music the way I do myself... Each voice separate, yet whole...
I'm still finding it hard to believe that you love me as much as you do... no one ever gave me a chance before, no one ever wanted to love me... no one wanted to deal with all the drama that comes along with someone being tg... you were the first to take that chance and throw caution to the wind...
I promise I'll continue to open myself up to you more and more... it's just scary as hell to be so open like that...
You do complete me Arlene... and I know I'd be lost without you...
All I have in this world is you and one true friend that i can even come close to opening up too... Though I fear opening myself, the fear grips me by my most sensitive throat and clenches so tight.... Fear that if I open up the two of you will run away ... I tried in the past with others but no one could handle what they heard and they ran, and ran, and ran.... too much pain for them to bear..., even to hear...
i know i'm so f*****g jaded... yet i try to see the good in all, which i know drives you insane... you know i'll get hurt, but you let me go.... watching, waiting, crying for me inside your heart... knowing it'll happen again and again, cuz i always try to see that good... I can only say this... if I didn't try to find the good I'd be filled with hate... Trust me Arlene... you don't want to know me filled with hate... So I'm much rather be hurt time and time again....
Ok I'm babbling.... :)
And opening just a lil too much me doth think! :)
Love you always my lil sparrow...

She does seem to have that effect on some people. Nicely written.
