You were so lonely

All these years

Not wanting love

And all its fears.

Walking around

With a shell 'round your heart

Not looking for love

Or caring to start.

Then we met

And love did swell

Breaking away

That granite shell.

"That granite shell" Great imagery here! It gives this tough image here. One of my personal favorites is the heart wrapped in rawhide too tough to crack. Has that same flavor, same essence to it, but clearly yours here. Your own spin. Honestly, I prefer the first part. But this one is nice too.

Walking around
With a shell 'round your heart - Yes, don't we all to some extent...

Great write! Good job of putting those basic emotions out there on the line...

("The we net" - did you mean, "Then we met")

I like this one. It may be hearts and flowers, but it is a beautiful one. Nicely written with a beautiful flow that blends and flows well. I really like the love in this one. So simple it is beautiful. XX
