Interdependent (Fictional)
A Story by Leo French
Earth is moving ahead in it's space program and so joining civilian business like SpaceX helps to keep NASA programn alive and thus continue to explore "The Final Frontier!"
Saturday, April 12, 2025 what a clear blue sky, the day is mild light winds and a warm sunny day in Florida where Elon Musk is about to launch into space the maiden flight of his two passenger spacecraft named "Caracaras 6". Working in conjunction with NASA as a merging company and SpaceX they've been collaborating to get this first time long range spaceship tested for distance space travel. It goes without saying they's dealt with a number serious issues towards making this first flight successful. The third booster rocket engine continued to unexpectly kick in but after frequently overhauling the engine they're ready to scratch it of the list of issues. Aviation Coronel Ladame Rinheart is a 7 year veteran of NASA's space program and the second, top of her class space pilot Captain Evecel Winfield. Both commanders are in their twenties and suiting up to to take their place on the Caracaras 6.
From around the world, the people were glued to their screens watching. The cameras followed these two astronaut as they walked across the tarmac towards the craft. The air was nearly silent as the procedure to begin blastoff began. From the speakers in the still air and the many radio waves, came the following,"5, 4, 3, 2, 1" Like the sound of thunder the rocket engines came to life, Pillow clouds of white steam built up like a volcano. The vessel lifted off the platform and began climbing towards the sky. People held their breath watching it climb until only a vapor tail could be seen. The Caracaras 6 was in space and heading for Mars. The two pilots began their check list procedure everything ran like clockwork, that is until they felt the craft violently jolt. Frantically searching their instrument panel for the cause, the number 3 booster rocket kicked in and they were quickly putting distance between themselves and Earth. By the time they shut all the engines down they had crossed over into a different dimension. Just ahead appears to be a planet smaller then Earth.
The pilots landed the Caracaras 6 on this new world. Having perform all the necessary checks to see if this planet can sustain human life they discovered it is rich like earthly elements of Earth. The air was cleaner, the water purer and the many vegetations were fresher. Colonel Ladame and Captain Evecal worked on trying to repair the Caracaras 6. With so much time that has passed Captain Evecal told Coronel Ladame "We are going to have a baby." The Coronel presented a choice to the Captain,"We just might be able to make it back to Earth so what do you want to do?"

Let me guess... the man's name was Adam, and the woman's Eve. 😆
Flash fiction isn't a high level synopsis of a section of the plot. It's a full story, with a start, inciting incident, middle and end.
You're thinking in terms of plot. But people read for the writing, and how it makes them feel. Our goal isn't to make them know the details of what happens. That's history. It's to make them feel, and care—to move them, emotionally. And we can't do that with the nonfiction report-writing skills we were given in school.
If you're thinking of writing fiction, do a bit of digging into the tricks of the trade. The craft of the profession is as necessary to writing fiction as to writing poetry.

Anyone that chooses not to write in a style you find acceptable should be banished from writing. Down threw the years writers have surprised, entertained their readers with all sorts of styles and or, interest which expands the mind and increases the imagination rather than leaving it like an old dusty relic of the past. Things that were told in the 1930s usually are told like that these days.

Funny thing about belief. .. read more• I personally believe your review borders on arrogance.
Funny thing about belief. How strong it is has nothing to do with it being either true or false.

And that, in some way improves THIS story? But...if you are one of that company, submit and sell it. If you can, you're in their class. If not, take the time to learn a few of the tricks the pros take for granted. Fiction, like poetry, and other field, is a learned skill. As the great Ernest Hemingway put it: “It’s none of their business that you have to learn how to write. Let them think you were born that way.”
Someone who didn't have to, took the time to point out some problems in your work, so you could become better at writing fiction. In this case, someone who has taught writing, and owned a manuscript critiquing service.
Your reaction? to insult the one who offered help for not praising the work.

You speak of focusing on proper procedues in writing yet day in and day out we look at thousands of broken headlines on the web displayed across people's screens and so I wonder since your aim is proper writing techniques have you addressed these agencies that constantly keep people guessing everyday, readers asking themself "What Does That Mean?" I didn't think so. Have you addressed people on the web that frequently use letter abbreviations in their writings? Some things that may have worked at one time doesn't meam it will all the time!

You make the mistake of thinking how you feel about writing. I've led the horse to water, and recommended that you look into the profession you're trying to practice. Drinking is your option. So I'll bow out, you can push the delete button, and pretend the critique never happened.
You might think on one point, though: For your entire life, every book you selected was published, which means created with the skills of the profession, with enough skill to cause a publisher to spend thousands of dollars getting it ready for market, and more, printing and distributing it.
You don't see the tools as you read. And reading fiction no more teaches you to write it that eating teaches you to be a chef. But you do see the result of their use, and demand that they be used. You can tell, in a single paragraph if they weren't used. More to the point, your reader can tell if you used those skills or just sat down and used the book-report skills we're given in school.
And if that's not reason enough for you to look into what your reader expects from you, your fiction will continue receiving as many comments in the future as it has till now.
