Let Me Hear....A Poem by Arjun SinghLet me hear your
oaths of love, the ones you did make by the firelight, Let me hear those
words you did utter, as I sublimed away under your unflinching gaze, Let me hear it once
more, that our future together is clear, Let me hear that
together, we’ll rid ourselves of this menacing haze. Let me hear an
excuse, another of your lies, nothing new between us two, Let me hear it, and I
swear I’ll believe you. Let me hear that your
path ahead had been dark and murky, Let me hear that the
fates have been cruel, and so has destiny. Let me hear how you
had missed me when I was out among the hordes once more, Let me hear how
memories of mine gnawed at your heart’s wounds sore. Let me hear how you
did shed a tear or two, Let me hear your rage
against time, for parting us two. Let me hear your
secret behind this aura of your magical bliss, Let me hear, that it
is but my radiance in which your whole self basks and gleams. Let me hear your wild
ranting, your senseless gossip, Let me hear them, for
they are my very bliss. Let me hear of the
love you still nurture for me, Let me hear another
allusion to your constancy. Let me hear that you
once did love me, Let me hear another
ode to simplicity. For when I wake, I’ll
wake up to realize, That you were just
never meant for me. I’ll wake up to
realize, That nature’s perfect
choice still waits patiently for me. Till then, The world outside the
window, scorched in its frolicking lights will walk by me, For I need no
sympathy out of pity’s sake, The world can just
move on, leaving me dazed in its wake. © 2015 Arjun SinghAuthor's Note
