Mother Africa

Mother Africa

A Poem by Nykie R
"

today is africa day and this poem is in celebration of Africa.

"

They say her people are savages, But many civilizations came from her.
They call her people black and ugly, But they shine as bright as the sun.
They think she has no voice, But listen close and hear the drum beat of her heart.
They say she is poor, But she has riches beyond imagine.
They call her sad and hurting, But have you seen her people's smiles?
They think she has no soul, But Mother Africa lives in our hearts.
