That Second Chance

That Second Chance

A Story by Erick Arizmendi

What people dont know is that life can be difficult and it can also be tough.
My name is Erick Arizmendi and i am 15 years old. What i've seen so far is that the life we live in, well my life is that is not a typical one.For example, me being happy. What i feel about my life is that i felt worthless and unloved by so many people. Ever since my father past away, i've been seeing changes about myself. I haved and i still have depression and I'm also bipolar. What bipolar is, its a so called disease, its when you feel happy then you feel depressed all of a sudden, well thats me. Usually my life is going not so good. Some people say that fathers are very stubborn, well i dont think that. My father, i really loved him and i still do. I'll never change my father with no one. I know he didn't stay with my family or with me, he didn't had the chance to to live his whole life, he didn't see us when our birthdays happen, and that bothers me alot. When my birthdays comes around, i always think," how come i dont have my dad with me? Why is he not here to tell me" happy birthday son, i love you". Now that he is not here with us, i feel like if i could die, i could see him and be with him for ever. Throughout my life, i've done some dumb and stupid mistakes that i would never forget. When i was still a little child, doctors had told me that i was acting and supposedly i didnt had depression, but when i started to get mature i lost it, i told my mother that i needed some help because i was about to do a terrible mistake. When i went to middle school, everything changed. When i was in 8th grade, there was a teacher that looked that he really cared for me and looked like he wanted to help me. I gave him a chance and he made me realized that he grew up with no father by his side as well. I thought about my story and his. He had told us that he also did terrible mistakes he'll never forget. Mr Miller was the one of the teachers who inspired me and gave me all the support i needed. He told me too look forward instead of backwards, he told me to be tall, brave and too look up at all the difficulty i will face in my life. I really appreciate that teacher for giving me so much advices and to educate me well. So thank you Mr Miller for teaching me and for giving me all the love. Always remember that BIG-LITTLE will reach his goals one day. If you have a teacher who wants to help you, don't waste that chance because thats a once in a life time opportunity.
